The Wamogo Wellness and Prevention Coalition is hosting a Drug Take Back Day this Saturday October 29 from 10 AM to 2 PM at the Warren Community Center, 7 Sackett Hill Road in Warren, adjacent to the Warren fire house.
The drug overdose epidemic is a clear and present public health, public safety and national security threat. We encourage everyone to remove unneeded medications from their homes as a measure of preventing medication misuse and opioid addiction from ever starting.
This event is part of the National Prescription Drug Take Back Day and is a partnership of the Wamogo Wellness and Prevention Coalition together with the Connecticut State Police Community Liaison Program. The event this Saturday in Warren is open to all surrounding communities.
Who we Are
The Wamogo Wellness and Prevention Coalition is working to create a safe, supportive, and healthy environment for young adults through increased awareness and education of the risks of substance use and high-risk behaviors. We represent the towns of Warren, Morris and Goshen, partnering with the Wamogo Middle and High Schools, to address the immediate needs of students with a focus on risk awareness, the reduction of teen vaping, alcohol use, and smoking (tobacco). Our coalition continues to meet virtually on the second Tuesday of each month at 11am. Together we continue to expand our capacity by building relationships with local town governments, community centers, park and recreation groups, parent organizations as well as local business and community leaders.
